Schedule
All students enrolled in intermediate chess club must have an understanding of how each piece moves, some basic openings and the object of the game. Students who have not previously been in chess club, may be asked to take a test to prove they understand the game.
This club is designed to give students an opportunity to improve their chess skills and to enjoy challenging their peers, while experiencing healthy competition and team spirit.
Chess is used to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making. While the students will have the chance to track their progress and to compete in chess matches, our main focus will be to encourage learning, sportsmanship, and fun.
